EEC Minister Maksat Mamytkanov and Vladimir Bulavin, Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, discussed using navigation seals in EAEU and issues of the Union's unified transit system

Using navigation seals in the Eurasian Economic Union as well as issues of the EAEU unified transit system were discussed by Maksat Mamytkanov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Vladimir Bulavin, Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, on September 9.

In particular, some issues of preparing the draft Agreement on Using Navigation Seals in the EAEU and the draft Agreement on the EAEU Unified Transit System were discussed. The meeting attendees have stressed that these Agreements will improve the transit procedure application and will have a positive impact on developing the EAEU transit potential.

The sides also identified amendments to the Union Customs Code, introducing information technologies and digitalizing customs processes as the main directions of work.

"The work in these fields is a priority of the Commission’s Customs Unit," Maksat Mamytkanov noted. “Differences in customs administration create problems when moving goods within the EAEU and the consistent improvement and unification of the EAEU law in customs regulation will have a positive impact on developing the Union’s transit potential".

Vladimir Bulavin paid attention to the need of ensuring single customs regulation and the expediency of minimizing reference norms in the Union Customs Code to create equal conditions for doing business in the Union.
