A wide range of issues were addressed during the next meeting of the Expert Group on amendments to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union. Amendments to the EAEU Customs Code were approved, inter alia, concerning cabotage transportation and traffic between the EAEU territory and facilities located or being constructed on the continental shelf.
The issues of the highest possible unification of requirements to transit transportation, conditions for including authorized economic operators in the register, and functioning of free customs zones and free warehouses were in the focus of attention as well.
In total, the Group's meeting, which lasted for five days, addressed more than 40 pressing issues proposed by the EAEU Member States and the Commission.
The efforts are being taken as part of preparing the first comprehensive draft Protocol on amendments to the EAEU Customs Code. The amendments approved by the experts during the meeting are aimed at reducing business expenses, eliminating negative law enforcement and judicial practice by clarifying provisions of the EAEU Customs Code and resolving outstanding issues.
