At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) on May 29 in Astana, the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union were presented with an annual overview report on the activities of Member States in terms of regulating the activities of natural monopoly entities in 2025.
The report manifests the legislative work of the EAEU countries and their regulatory practices in this area, as well as joint plans to deepen integration.
The document presents the interim results of monitoring conducted by the Eurasian Economic Commission to determine the compliance of Member States' legislation with the principles and rules established by the Treaty on the EAEU regarding the regulation of natural monopolies. Particular attention is also paid to the practice of solving problems related to environmental aspects and energy efficiency in this specific field.
The conclusions and outcome of the work will serve as a guide for further integration of the Union countries in this domain.
The Commission, together with regulators from the Union Member States, prepares an annual report and posts it on its official website. The information (report) is prepared in accordance with subpara. 5 of para. 20 of the Protocol on Common Principles and Rules for Regulation of Activity of Natural Monopoly Entities (Annex No. 20 to the Treaty on the EAEU).
