On October 9, Naira Karapetyan, Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Agricultural Policy Department, chaired a coordination meeting on livestock breeding in the Eurasian Economic Union within the business program of the Golden Autumn 2025 Russian Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow.
The key discussion points were plans for developing the market of breeding resources, mechanisms and instruments for creating a breeding system, and development of digitalization in livestock breeding within the EAEU.
Naira Karapetyan told about the competitiveness of livestock breeding as an essential condition for developing the agricultural sector.
During the panel discussion "Innovation to Practice: How the Green Product Segment Develops at Present", Saule Moldabaeva, Deputy Director of the EEC Agricultural Policy Department, informed the event participants about the experience of the Member States in using green technologies and shaping the Union's law on organic agricultural products circulation."Further steps to unify the EAEU requirements for releasing into circulation, importing, exporting and moving breeding stock of farm animals, together with creating common databases of breeding resources and sustainable supply models, will create favorable conditions for increasing mutual trade in breeding stock in the Union States," Naira Karapetyan pointed out.
The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the EAEU authorities authorized in the field of livestock breeding, research institutions, laboratories and other livestock breeding entities of the Member States.
