Zero import duties for the young of salmon and trout have been extended until the end of 2024

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has extended the validity of zero import customs duty rates for the young of salmon and trout up to and including December 31, 2024.

СCT EAEU rates for certain fish species in question (CN FEA of the EAEU Codes 0301 91 900 0 and 0301 99 110 0) are 10% of the customs value. However, 0% duties were established from February 28, 2019, through February 28, 2022, in accordance with Decision No. 3 of the EEC Council dated January 18, 2019.

"The development of domestic fish production is a major component of food security for both each Member State of the Eurasian Economic Union and the EAEU as a whole. Maintaining zero duty rates for the young of cultured fish will contribute to the increased percentage of commercial salmon and trout produced in the Union," Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Tariff and Non-tariff Customs Regulation Department, emphasized.

At the same time, he specified that the young of Atlantic salmon for commercial culture was not produced on the EAEU territory whereas the young of trout produced by a number of enterprises was intended for culture in fresh water fisheries only.
