At a Minsk conference dedicated to the World Standardization Day, Maksim Kim, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Technical Regulation and Accreditation Department, told about establishing and improving the unified framework of mandatory requirements in the field of technical regulation, as well as about prospects for developing standardization in the Eurasian Economic Union.

The EEC representative spoke about the work that the Eurasian Economic Commission was doing in these areas.

"The mechanism for developing and adopting technical regulations, enabling their application, creation of the framework for assessing and controlling them, establishing effective interaction from the manufacturer to the consumer — all this is regulated by the Union's law," Maksim Kim mentioned. "Out of 52 technical regulations of the Union that are developed and adopted, 48 came into effect."

Particular emphasis was placed on standardization in the technical regulation system. Its key role in improving safety, quality and competitiveness of products, as well as removing technical barriers to trade was noted.

"About 9,000 of advanced interstate and national standards are included in the EAEU evidence base, an extensive work was also done to ensure the application of methods included in the lists of standards," the EEC representative said.
The conference titled "By Keeping Traditions of the Past, We Create the Future" was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of state standardization. It was held on October 14, 2025 in the Belarusian State Institute for Standardization and Certification in Minsk. The organizer is the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus.
