Prospects for fulfilling EAEU transit potential discussed at CCI conference

At the conference held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation, Nurlan Baynazarov, Deputy Director of the Department for Customs Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice, told about the work of the Customs Unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission on ensuring effective customs administration in the context of increased transit freight transportation volumes. Specifically, he touched upon the Agreement on navigation seals and the draft Agreement on the common system for customs transit.

"We expect that creation of a modernized model of the Union's single customs transit will contribute to an increase in transit freight transportation volumes and improved service quality for all parties involved and will promote development of Member States' economies," noted Nurlan Baynazarov.

The Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 include the work on the Agreement on using navigation seals for tracking shipments in the EAEU and the Agreement on the common system for customs transit. The Agreement on navigation seals is signed by heads of all Member States, has been sent to Member States for ratification procedures and will come into effect once they are completed.
