EEC representatives participated in sessions of World Customs Organization's technical committees

The delegation of the Eurasian Economic Commission took part in the sessions of the Revised Kyoto Convention Management Committee and the Permanent Technical Committee, which were held in Brussels at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization (WCO).

The event was also attended by representatives of the WCO Secretariat, foreign customs administrations of Member States, international organizations, business and academia circles.

Representatives of the EEC Customs Unit voiced their positions on the relevant matters of developing the smart customs institution, introduction of advanced customs technologies, the single window mechanism, e-commerce, the authorized economic operators,
the study of release time, as well as the implementation of the mechanism for assessing the efficiency of customs authorities.

During the visit to Brussels, the strategic directions for further improvement of WCO standards were discussed, as well as the development of the EEC-WCO dialogue in the area of customs regulation and trade facilitation.

The Eurasian Economic Commission and the World Customs Organization cooperate within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding in such areas as improving customs legislation based on international standards, developing efficient and modern standards of customs administration, etc.
