Transition period for enacting technical regulation on poultry meat extended
The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board has approved transitional provisions of the Eurasian Economic Union’s Technical Regulation "On safety of poultry meat and its processed products".

The transition period has been set for 18 months from the date of enacting the technical regulation on January 1, 2023, in other words, until June 30, 2024. During this time, it is allowed to manufacture and put into circulation products according to documents on assessing compliance with the Union’s legal requirements, including the Technical Regulation "On safety of food products" issued prior to enacting the technical regulation. Such products can be circulated during their shelf life determined by the manufacturer.

Besides, it is assumed that prior to the effective date of the technical regulation on poultry meat, the Commission, jointly with the EAEU countries, will prepare a program for developing interstate standards and a list of products in relation of which compliance with the requirements of Technical Regulation "On safety of poultry meat and its processed products" shall be confirmed when placed under customs procedures.

The transitional provisions have been adopted for a phased transition to the technical regulation's requirements and conformity assessment documents for poultry meat and its processed products.
