The concept for introducing green economy principles in the Eurasian Economic Union, prepared by the Integration and Macroeconomics Unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took third place in the competition of international initiatives for sustainable development in the Eurasian region ERP HONOURS 2024.

Eldar Alisherov, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, received the award from a representative of the Eurasian Regional Partnership on Sustainability and SDG Reporting (ERP).

The concept is an initiative to harness the potential of international economic cooperation to accelerate the achievement of green transformation goals. It is based on the following principle: ensuring that each EAEU country has an optimal balance between environmental and climate protection, on the one hand, and achieves its national socio-economic development goals, on the other.

The Concept was previously recognized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in the Best International Initiatives category of the ISAR HONOURS 2024 competition.
