At a meeting held on December 20, the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board approved the Recommendation on the list of medicinal products and pharmaceutical substances for human use, the manufacture of which is recommended to be ensured in the Eurasian Economic Union until 2024. 

“Given the current tough economic realities, we expect that this list will become the starting point for ensuring the Union’s medicine safety,” emphasized Artak Kamalyan, EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture.

  

The document was elaborated by the EEC Industrial Unit, jointly with the Union countries' competent authorities to implement relevant action plan for increasing the EAEU States’ self-sufficiency for vitally important medicinal products and pharmaceutical substances for human use, approved by the Heads of Government of the Member States in November last year. 

In addition to forming the list, the plan includes addressing the issue of organizing co-production of vaccines, drafting proposals for financing cooperative projects in manufacturing medicinal products and pharmaceutical substances, addressing the issues of applying customs and tariff regulation measures, and a number of other activities.
