Concentration of biologically active agent "boron" in Bornaya natural mineral water group adjusted
The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council approved amendments to Technical Regulation "On safety of packaged drinking water, including natural mineral water" which came into effect on January 1, 2019.
The amendments clarify some requirements for mass concentration of biologically active agent "boron" in the "Bornaya" natural mineral water to refer it to the therapeutic table natural mineral water or therapeutic natural mineral water. The upper limit of the boron content in terms of orthoboric acid for therapeutic table water is 35.0 - 100.0 mg/dm3 and for therapeutic mineral water - more than 100.0 mg/dm3.
The Council's Decision shall come into effect after 180 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
In order to ensure a smooth transition of the manufacturing industry and the business community to a common classification of mineral waters by boron content, transitional provisions will be approved by a separate decision of the EEC Board.
