Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting in Astana with Zhanel Kushukova, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The two parties reviewed their joint efforts to amend the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.
They discussed some issues related to law enforcement, including the enforcement of the Commission's decisions adopted against violators of general competition rules and the collection of necessary information from Kazakhstani public authorities to monitor compliance with general competition rules in transboundary markets.
The meeting discussed the proactive assessment of the state of competition in certain commodity markets and the criteria for their selection.
Speaking about the potential for interaction, Maksim Yermalovich thanked the Kazakhstani party for its active involvement in the work to establish the EAEU common exchange market of goods and stressed the importance of further cooperation in this area.
