Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, thanked Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, for his congratulations on her re-election as Prime Minister.

"Improving the people's lives in the Republic of Bangladesh has always been at the top of my agenda," Sheikh Hasina's letter reads. "Owing to the stable government, we have achieved unprecedented social and economic development over the past 15 years and will be able to achieve much more in the next 5 years. I believe we are on the right track in our commitment to become a high-income country by 2041."

Sheikh Hasina is convinced that deepening cooperation between the two sides is important and mutually beneficial for both the people of Bangladesh and the Eurasian Economic Union States. She emphasized that she would be happy "if this partnership becomes stronger, brighter and aimed at closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest."

It bears reminding that earlier Mikhail Myasnikovich noted in his congratulatory letter that the new resounding victory of Sheikh Hasina in the elections on January 7 this year testifies to the genuine support of the people of the Republic of Bangladesh for the course of the country's social and economic development pursued by the Prime Minister. The Head of the Commission's Board expressed confidence in deepening interaction between the Government of Bangladesh and the EEC, including within the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2019.
