Cooperation between EAEU countries in tourism can catalyze economic growth
On its official website, the Eurasian Economic Commission is developing a section about the Eurasian tourist routes to include information on over 400 attractions in the Eurasian Economic Union countries. This was announced by Lusine Bagratuni, Deputy Director of the EEC Business Development Department, during the session "Digital Vector of Eurasian Tourism: Integration and Growth Strategies" at the Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum in Bosteri, Kyrgyzstan, on August 14.

According to the Commission's representative, tourism is one of the highly profitable and fast growing sectors of the world economy. Tourism accounts for about 10% of global gross national product and over 7% of global investment.

"Given the geographical proximity of the EAEU countries, cooperation in this field can catalyze economic growth, becoming an important factor for job creation and entrepreneurship development," emphasized Lusine Bagratuni. "Our States have a huge recreation potential, from mountain lakes and steppes to world-class cities and cultural centers marked by the richest history. For this potential to be marketable, however, we should speak the same language as the 21st century tourists do, the language of digital technologies."

The anticipated section of the website will embrace data from national tourist portals, offering interactive maps and relevant information for those traveling around the EAEU countries.
