EEC Council approved report on macroeconomic situation in EAEU countries

The Eurasian Economic Commission's Council reviewed the report “On the macroeconomic situation in the Eurasian Economic Union countries and proposals to ensure sustainable economic development.”

The report summarizes the EAEU countries' social and economic development in 2025. The reporting period saw growth in the aggregate gross domestic product. Domestic demand remained the main driver of growth. Positive trends were observed in all of its main components: consumer, investment, and government. The greatest contribution was made by final consumption expenditure of households, the growth of which was supported by lending and credit as well as an increase in real income of the population, including salaries.

The document also provides recommendations for ensuring sustainable economic development of the EAEU Member States as a whole and outlines prospects for the period up to 2027. The recommendations are intended to increase production capacity and productivity, support labor mobility within the EAEU, enhance labor market flexibility, and strengthen financial and trade ties within the community. According to forecasts, average annual economic growth of about 2.5% is expected in 2026–2027.

The report has been approved by the EEC Council and sent to the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council for consideration.
