At the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on October 1 in Yerevan, Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union approved the disposition on harmonizing legislation of the Eurasian Five countries in the field of civil aviation.
According to the adopted document, the governments of the EAEU countries shall organize the work on harmonizing the legislation of the Member States in accordance with the norms and principles of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the field of aircraft airworthiness until January 1, 2025.
In particular, it shall determine the procedure for informing when an aircraft that does not have an airworthiness certificate or has temporarily lost airworthiness is moved to the territory of another EAEU state, as well as the grounds for issuing a flight permit for such an aircraft.
"Based on the ICAO standards and existing national practice, the EAIC regulation will make it possible to develop harmonized norms regarding the procedure for informing and grounds for issuing flight permits for aircraft that do not have an airworthiness certificate or have temporarily lost airworthiness. Subsequently, the Member States will organize amendments to their national legislation," said Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
When implemented, the disposition will facilitate creating a common market for air transport services in the Union.
