A number of initiative proposals from the Eurasian Economic Union countries aimed at improving and further unifying the customs declaration procedures for goods were discussed at a meeting of the relevant Working Group under the Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation, chaired by Grigor Oganyan, Deputy Director of the Department of Customs Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice. The event was attended by representatives of the EAEU States' public authorities and the business community.
The experts discussed a number of proposals made by the sides aimed at amending the Procedure for filling in the declaration for goods, as well as the Customs Code of the Union.
Particular attention was paid to unifying and systematizing the rules for specifying information on trademarks and other intellectual property objects, as well as trade names and brands. Furthermore, the experts discussed proposals to amend the EAEU Customs Code in order to specify the possible scope of information regarding intellectual property objects.
The Procedure for filling in the declaration for goods was approved by Decision No. 257 of the Customs Union Commission dated May 20, 2010.
The Working Group on Customs Declaration was established by the decision of the EEC Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation. The scope of its activities covers declarations for goods, including those related to the form and procedure of filling in a declaration for goods.
