Transitional provisions on amendments to technical regulations on toys established

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has established the procedure for enacting amendments to the Customs Union's technical regulation "On Safety of Toys" to come into effect on November 26 this year.
Certificates of toys conformity to the technical regulations' requirements issued before the amendments came into force will be effective until the end of their validity period. During the validity period of these documents it is allowed to produce toys and put them into circulation. Circulation of such products is authorized during their service life or shelf life.
Amendments to the technical regulation "On Safety of Toys" were introduced by Decision No. 50 of the EEC Council dated May 14, 2024.
As part of the amendments, the document has been clarified as needed according to its application practice. Besides, the technical regulation has been supplemented with new terms such as "flavored toy", "stuffed toy", "rattle", "set for developing taste skills (taste set)" and a number of others, as well as requirements for new types of toys. These include board games to develop the sense of smell, flavor kits, and some others.
