In order to further develop the legal framework for customs administration of e-commerce, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the form for adjusting the declaration for e-commerce goods and the procedure for completing it.
The adjustment to the declaration for e-commerce goods, as well as the declaration itself, will apply from the date the amendments to the EAEU Customs Code come into effect, both for goods purchased by individuals directly on e-commerce platforms and for goods sold to individuals from warehouses already within the Union."The developed form and procedure will allow for changes to previously submitted information, which in practice may be highly desirable given the nature of the goods and the specifics of their movement," noted Sergey Shklyaev, the EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation.
A Protocol on amendments to the Union’s Customs Code with regard to foreign e-commerce regulation was signed at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on December 25, 2023.
