Deputy Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries signed the Agreement on Permissible Weights, Axle Loads and Dimensions of Vehicles when traveling on the highways of the EAEU States included in the Eurasian transport corridors.

The Agreement eliminates one of the restrictions in the internal market of the Union, namely non-compliance of requirements for vehicle weight and dimensions.

"By increasing the minimum permissible values and establishing common requirements, we have harmonized national weight and dimensional standards for freight transport organizations. Thus, carriers will not need to obtain additional special permits, as was required earlier in the case of lower weight and dimensional parameters established in one of the Member States," mentioned Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Once implemented, the Agreement will simplify transport movement in the EAEU and increase the efficiency of interstate transportation along the Eurasian transport corridors.
