By Q1 end, debts of EAEU legal entities on loans in foreign currency decreased

The results of Q1 2023 show that the Eurasian Economic Union countries saw decreased debts of legal entities on loans in foreign currency and increased debts on loans in national currency compared to the same period in 2022.

This year, a decrease in the cost of lending was recorded only in Belarus – 9.75% (-0.25 percentage points). Other national (central) banks did not change their rates: in Armenia (10.75%), Kazakhstan (16.75%) and Kyrgyzstan (13%), the rates have been preserved since December 2022, in Russia (7.5%) – since September 2022.

 

 Compared to the same period last year, the volume of loans provided to legal entities over Q1 2023 increased in Belarus by 10% and in Kyrgyzstan by 35%.

A decrease in loans granted to businesses was 1% in Armenia, 60% in Kazakhstan and 12% in Russia.
