At the Eurasian Economic Commission's headquarters, Andrey Slepnev, the EEC Minister in charge of Trade, held a working meeting with representatives of pharmaceutical business under the auspices of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The discussion covered promoting products to third-country markets and eliminating the existing barriers.
"It is important for us to interact with business circles to define areas of work with our partners so as to ultimately achieve the maximum effect expressed in growing supply of products of the Eurasian Economic Union countries and developing trade and economic cooperation in general. The work to remove barriers in external markets in relation to the said products complies both with the legal framework in force between the Union Member States and its trade agreements with third countries," the EEC Minister noted.
Among the main existing barriers representatives of the relevant entrepreneurial community identified the long and complex marketing authorization procedure of pharmaceutical products and medical devices in foreign countries. In their opinion, it is advisable to consider reaching common ground with some of them to simplify it. The EEC Trade Unit started working on these proposals.
