EEC considered concept of Program for developing integration in statistics for 2026 – 2030

The prospects for developing the Eurasian integration in the field of statistics were considered at a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Statistics under the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, chaired by Sergei Glazyev, EEC Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, which was held on April 22.

The main emphasis was placed on the issue of drafting the concept of the Program for developing integration in the field of statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2026 – 2030. "The current Program for developing integration in the field of the EAEU statistics will be completed in 2025," Sergei Glazyev noted. "Even today it is important to prioritize our further joint actions with the Member States".
In order to elaborate a strategic action plan and formulate a roadmap for development until 2030 in this field, the Advisory Committee members emphasized the importance of exchanging views and experience at the international seminar "Strategic Vectors of the EAEU Statistics Development until 2030" to be held on May 15-16 this year in Moscow.

A report was heard on the monitoring of regulatory legal acts adopted by the Union countries' authorized bodies on economic and socio-demographic statistics for 2023.

The results of "mirror" comparisons of external sector statistical data between the Member States were discussed. Positive examples on reducing "mirror" discrepancies were noted, and information on unstable results in bilateral country-by-country comparisons was given. The meeting attendees decided to discuss in detail the proposals and measures to improve the "mirror" statistics of the balance of payments in the near future in preparing strategic documents on the EAEU statistics development for the period until 2030.

Besides, the results of implementing the Strategy-2025 and the action plan for 2023 on implementing the Program for developing integration in the field of the EAEU statistics for 2021 - 2025 were considered.

The next meeting of the Advisory Committee on Statistics is scheduled for October 2024.
