"China is a key trading partner of the EAEU accounting for a third of our global foreign trade turnover. Across a wide range of industrial products and consumer goods, China's share in imports is decisive. At the same time, the Chinese market is critically important for our exporters," stressed Andrey Slepnev, the EEC Minister in charge of Trade.
The meeting participants have been informed that in the first half of November Moscow will host the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Implementing the Agreement on Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the PRC, co-chaired by the EEC Minister. The seminar materials are planned to be used in arranging the meeting.
Among the main restraints in trade with China the speakers identified financial, settlement and technical barriers, the problems related to standardization issues, application of sanitary and phytosanitary measures, customs clearance and logistics, as well as infringements of intellectual property rights. However, it was noted that the total number of complaints from the entrepreneurial community decreased significantly.
