The issues of information interaction between state veterinary control (supervision) bodies in the Eurasian Economic Union countries, as well as digitalization in the traceability of animals and products of animal origin were discussed at the round table "Digital transformation of the system of veterinary control and admission of controlled products to the EAEU market: legal framework, practice and prospects" held on September 17 in Sochi.
Valentin Tataritsky, Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission, has stressed that cooperation between the Union countries contemplates the implementation of common processes as part of an integrated information system, ensuring the compatibility of different departmental information systems in the Member States and the unification of procedures for electronic data exchange.
"Achieving the goals of the Union's digital agenda will lead to the acceleration of the free movement of goods and services, capital and labor," believes Valentin Tataritsky, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. "It will help increase the competitiveness of economic entities through digital transformation, cooperation between the Member States' economic entities via end-to-end digital processes."
The discussion participants considered the advantages and disadvantages of electronic veterinary certification, noting in particular the great importance of information systems in terms of data processing and transmitting results of veterinary and sanitary examination and laboratory tests of goods controlled by the veterinary service.
