Varos Simonyan and Arzybek Kozhoshev discussed prospects for developing Union’s internal market

On May 13, Varos Simonyan, Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a meeting with Arzybek Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, within his working visit to Bishkek. The meeting was held on the eve of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s meeting involving Heads of the EAEU States scheduled for May 27 in Bishkek. The sides discussed issues of improving the work to ensure unrestricted functioning of the internal market, as well as developing the EAEU integrated information system.

As Varos Simonyan has stressed, the Eurasian Economic Commission pays much attention to removing obstacles in the EAEU internal market.

"Nowadays, when international trade undergoes serious difficulties and faces disintegrating risks, the most unconventional decisions should be adopted in a prompt manner. One of the relevant objectives is not only to consistently eliminate existing obstacles to free movement of goods, labor, services and capital, but also to prevent new ones. In such challenging conditions, we should constantly improve our work in the internal market and work out efficient measures and mechanisms to address emerging challenges in an expedited manner not only to preserve, but also to boost our competitiveness", Varos Simonyan said.

During the visit, Varos Simonyan also held a working meeting with Talantbek Imanov, Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic. The sides discussed implementing the EAEU digital agenda and prospects for improving approaches to implementing the EAEU integrated Information System (IIS) approved by the Prime Ministers of the Union countries in February 2022.

According to the EEC Minister, coupling the public authorities’ information systems, primarily those common integrated processes the countries have identified as priorities, will contribute to strengthening the EAEU internal market as well.
