Viktor Nazarenko, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, sent his congratulations on the World Accreditation Day that is celebrated on June 9 to the heads of national accreditation bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

"This holiday is celebrated by the entire global community of specialists working in the field of accreditation, conformity assessment, testing, measurements, scientific and practical research concerning products and environmental media," the congratulatory letter reads.

 Viktor Nazarenko emphasized that the role of accreditation in economic processes, trade and the social sphere was progressively increasing. Accreditation is a globally recognized instrument promoting adoption of advanced international and national standards in production and the services sector and verifying compliance with their requirements.

In 2023, the festive events are being held under the slogan Accreditation: Supporting the Future of Global Trade, which confirms that the governments of the world, business community and consumers recognize an important role of accreditation in ensuring safety and free circulation of products in international trade relations.

The EEC Minister noted, "For the Eurasian Economic Union, accreditation is one of the key elements in the technical regulation system ensuring not only that the EAEU market and population are protected from unsafe products but also free movement of goods and energy carriers, which allows full implementation of the principle 'tested once, accepted everywhere'."

Being mature participants of national quality infrastructures based on objective assessment of activities by conformity assessment bodies (certification and inspection bodies, testing and calibration laboratories), the national accreditation bodies of the EAEU States act as guarantors of comparability and mutual recognition of conformity assessment results in the entire Eurasian space.
