Vladimir Serpikov, Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Trade Policy Department, took part in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the EAEU Business Council and the China Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), held at the venue of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE). The document was signed by Alexander Shokhin, Member of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council and President of the RUIE, and Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the CCPIT.

The Memorandum is aimed at enhancing direct cooperation between business communities of the EAEU and China, exchange of business visits and information on opportunities for trade and investment development. In addition, the document provides for the establishment of the EAEU–PRC Business Dialogue, which will become a permanent body for the implementation of agreements between the parties to the Memorandum.

"The development of trade and economic cooperation with China is one of the priority areas of the EAEU foreign trade policy. By the end of last year, our trade turnover with the PRC grew by 25% and reached a new record level. We expect that the Memorandum implementation will contribute to further increasing trade and growing business contacts between EAEU and Chinese companies," mentioned Vladimir Serpikov.

The China Committee for the Promotion of International Trade was established in 1952 as the PRC's nation-wide body for promoting international trade and investment.
