The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board has adopted a legal act amending the Procedure for filling out a transit declaration.
The decision was adopted on the basis of the initiative put forward by the Kazakhstani party and affects special aspects of completing a transit declaration when foreign goods are transported by air within the Republic of Kazakhstan from the customs authority at the place of arrival in the Union's customs territory to the customs authority at the place of departure from such territory.
“The adopted legal act is aimed at promoting the interests of the business community, simplifying trade procedures and is very important for the economy of Kazakhstan,” noted Eldar Alisherov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Commission. The Head of the EEC Customs Cooperation Unit explained that the new legal regulation would be implemented within the framework of international treaties on air transportation.
Decision No. 73 of the Board dated May 30, 2023 was prepared to update the EAEU law in the field of customs regulation and is part of a comprehensive work to regulate the rules for applying the customs procedure of customs transit by participants in foreign economic activity and the customs authorities of the Union Member States, as well as the full-fledged implementation of the electronic exchange of information within the relevant common process of the EAEU integrated information system (common process No. 13).
