Ruslan Davydov, the EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation, and Zhou Wenyi, Customs Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Russia, discussed necessary steps for intensifying the work of the joint Subcommittee on Customs Cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the People's Republic of China.
The parties discussed enhancing customs cooperation, developing digital customs, as well as instruments for ensuring seamless transit of goods between the EAEU countries and China.
The meeting reviewed the preparation of the protocol on exchanging information between the customs services of the Union States and the Chinese General Administration of Customs.
The EEC Minister informed his Chinese colleagues about the novelties in the EAEU customs regulation and strategic plans for improving it. He also praised the PRC's significant contribution to implementing the smart customs project at the World Customs Organization."Information exchange is necessary for simplifying and accelerating customs procedures and regularizing the trade turnover," Ruslan Davydov stressed.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their willingness to promote cooperation in customs and agreed to organize a meeting between the EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation and the Head of the Chinese General Administration of Customs in 2026.
