Laura Sadykova was born in 1971 in Karaganda Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 1992, she graduated from the K.A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy with a livestock engineer degree; in 1996, from a full-time postgraduate program at the Kazakh Research and Technological Institute of Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production; in 2007, from Bolashaq Karaganda University of Relevant Education as a Bachelor of Finance.
In 2017, she did a research internship at Michigan State University (USA), specializing in economics and economic management.
She began her career in 1996 as a researcher at a research organization. In 2001, she went into the civil service in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2002 to 2008, she worked in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Departments of Science, Strategy of Agro-Industrial Complex Development, Processing Industry and WTO at positions ranging from Section Head to Deputy Director of the Department.
2009 to 2011: Deputy Chair of the Board of KazAgroInnovation Joint Stock Company of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2011 to 2014: Deputy Chair of the Board — Vice-Rector of the Kazakh Agrotechnical University of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2015, she continued her career in senior management positions in the Ministries of Investment and Development, Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Departments of Technological and Innovative Development, Digital Transformation, and Project Management.
2021 to 2025: Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She has a PhD in agricultural sciences.
Laura Sadykova is an author of more than twenty scientific articles, co-author of a monograph and two selection achievements.
She is a holder of state and departmental awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since April 14, 2025, she was appointed Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Industrial Policy Department.
