Third package of customs tariff measures to improve economic stability approved

The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council considered new proposals submitted by the sides to temporarily zero customs duty rates for a wide range of critical imports. Following the discussion, initiatives were agreed on about three hundred positions.
"Earlier, during the Council’s meetings held on March 17 and April 5, as well as subsequent meetings of the Board, two support packages for socially important industries under current conditions, including those related to the disruption of logistics chains, were approved," reminded Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade.

In accordance with the arrangement reached, the sides continued to finalize the list of products to expand the coverage of customs tariff regulation measures according to economic needs of the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

According to the Minister, this time, the zeroing of duties will affect, in particular, certain types of organic chemical compounds and products of inorganic chemistry, certain types of parts for machinery, equipment and mechanisms, certain types of legume crops and certain types of paper and cardboard.

A decision will be adopted soon on instructions from the Commission’s Council on a number of items under the EEC Board’s jurisdiction. The decisions will apply to legal relations arisen since March 28, 2022.
