EAEU introduces anti-dumping duty on ferrosilicon manganese from Georgia
The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on ferrosilicon manganese from Georgia. The anti-dumping measure will be valid for five years, and the duty amount will be 21,4-24,22% of the customs value, depending on the manufacturer.
The decision was made following an anti-dumping investigation initiated by the EEC Department for Internal Market Defense on June 28, 2021 at the request of manufacturers of this product from the Eurasian Economic Union countries: Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant JSC and West Siberian Electrometallurgical Plant LLC, supported by Taraz Metallurgical Plant LLP, Temirtau Electrometallurgical Plant JSC, and Aksu Ferroalloys Plant - Branch of TNC Kazchrome JSC.
Following the investigation, some instances of dumping imports of goods originating from Georgia and material harm to the economic sector of the Eurasian Economic Union were established. Along with that, as the EEC Trade Unit noted, a significant increase in the supply of Georgian ferrosilicon manganese (by 2.3 times) occurred in 2017 after imposing an anti-dumping measure against goods from Ukraine.
During the period of the anti-dumping duty on Georgian ferrosilicon manganese, the EEC Department for Internal Market Defense will conduct price monitoring on the Union market with the possibility of prompt review of the measure.
The decision shall come into effect after 30 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
