On July 31, a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation chaired by Eldar Alisherov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, considered relevant matters of customs regulation.
The discussion covered issues of importance for businesses regarding the uniform enforcement of certain provisions of the EAEU Customs Code by the Eurasian Economic Union States and decisions of the Commission, as well as readiness of customs services to implement the common Union-wide customs transit process.
The meeting participants endorsed further work to improve a number of provisions of the Customs Code and acts of the Commission, agreed on intensified measures by customs services aimed at implementing the common EAEU customs transit process, and coordinated the approaches of customs services to the implementation of certain provisions of the Union's law.
“It is difficult to overestimate the importance that businesses attach to the discussed simplifications of customs transit across the Union's territory. We are doing an ongoing work in this direction, including to improve information exchange between customs offices,” noted Eldar Alisherov. “We are ready to quickly respond to any challenges associated with conducting foreign economic activity in the current global economic situation, and will always support our businesses as much as possible.”
