The meeting of the Working Group on Improving Customs Regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union chaired by Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Maksat Mamytkanov approved a package of amendments that will be included in the draft of the first comprehensive Protocol on Amendments to the Customs Code of the EAEU.
These amendments are a priority for Member States in the customs area. They will help resolve a number of problematic issues related to the application of the Customs Code, simplify and speed up the passage of goods across the customs border of the Union, and establish the specifics of customs operations for certain categories of goods.
Such issues, in particular, include the procedure for moving containers across the customs border, the implementation of transit and cabotage trucking, application of customs procedures for a customs warehouse, free customs zone and free warehouse.
Having discussed certain issues that have not yet been fully agreed upon, the members of the Working Group approved the submission of the first comprehensive Protocol on Amendments to the Customs Code of the EAEU for legal expert review and then for domestic approval.
