Amendments to the EAEU technical regulations for low-voltage equipment and electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment will come into effect on December 11.

The amendments to the technical regulations are aimed at clarifying the areas of their application, eliminating doubled provisions of other technical regulations adopted by the EAEU.

In particular, the low-voltage equipment that has been in use (operation), as well as the low-voltage equipment included in the scope and subject to confirmation of compliance with the requirements of the EAEU Technical Regulations "On safety of machinery and equipment" (TR CU 010/2011), "Safety of elevators" (TR CU 011/2011), 

and “On safety of equipment for operation in explosive environments” (TR CU 012/2011), except for cables, wires, and cords, have been excluded from the scope of the Technical Regulation "On safety of low-voltage equipment".

Products falling within the scope of other EAEU technical regulations which establish electromagnetic compatibility requirements to these products, as well as medical products and technical equipment that have been in use (operation), will not be subject to the Technical Regulation "Electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment". 

The amendments also clarify the conceptual framework of the technical regulations, the scope of information to be specified in the operating documentation for products, and the lists of products subject to confirmation of compliance with the technical regulations' safety requirements in the certification form.

The transitional periods of amendments to the technical regulations establish that the conformity assessment documents on products issued before enacting the amendments are valid until the end of their validity period.
