Coordination of Activities in the Field of Assessment of Conformity and Accreditation

Conformity assessment

Conformity assessment is a direct or indirect determination of compliance with the requirements applied to a subject of technical regulation.

In accordance with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014, conformity assessment of subjects of technical regulation established in the technical regulations of the Union is carried out in the form of registration (state registration), testing, conformity assessments, examinations and/or in any other form.

Mandatory assurance of conformity is carried out in the forms of declaration of conformity and certification only when set out by respective technical regulations of the Union and only to assess compliance with the requirements of technical regulations of the Union.

Conformity assessment forms, schemes and procedures are established by the technical regulations of the Union on the basis of standard conformity assessment schemes approved by the Commission.

Ensuring uniformity of measurements

Uniformity of measurements is the state of measurements, when results of measurements are expressed in units of measurement approved for use in the Member States, and the measurement accuracy does not exceed the established limits.

Currently, all acts of the Commission in this field, stipulated by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014, have been adopted and entered into force, that simplify the procedures for recognizing the results of metrological activities and ensure free movement of measuring instruments manufactured in the Member States of the Union.
