JURISDICTION:
The Department operates in the following areas:
1. Labor migration and migration policy;
2. Social, pension and health care, education and professional activities of workers of the Member States;
3. In other areas defined by international treaties within the Union.
MAIN TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

to ensure, together with structural subdivisions of the Commission, public authorities of the Member States, advisory authorities, public associations and other organizations, formation and implementation of a coordinated, agreed or common policy on the issues within the jurisdiction of the Department;

to participate in the development of draft international treaties and acts constituting the law of the Union, as well as to prepare proposals for the improvement, harmonization and (or) unification of the legislation of the Member States in these areas.

to remove barriers to free movement of labor, promote the formation of a common labor market within the Union;

to promote cooperation among the Member States in implementing an organized recruitment of workers of the Member States for their employment in the Member States.
