Anti-dumping duty on polymer-coated rolled metal from PRC extended for the period of repeated investigation

The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board has extended the anti-dumping duty on polymer-coated rolled metal from the PRC up to and including September 15, 2023.

The applied measure shall expire on January 22, 2023. However, the EEC Department for Internal Market Defence received an application to conduct a repeated anti-dumping investigation.

The information provided in the application enabled making preliminary conclusions about the possibility of continuing dumped imports of polymer-coated rolled metal from the PRC and causing damage to the economic sector of the Eurasian Economic Union States. As the EEC Trade Unit noted, following the application processing, the repeated anti-dumping investigation was launched on September 16 this year.

The EAEU regulatory framework provides for extending the period of the current anti-dumping measure request for the period of repeated investigation which should be completed within 12 months from the date of its commencement.

For reference

The anti-dumping duty for polymer-coated rolled metal from the PRC imported into the EAEU customs territory was introduced by Decision No. 49 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board dated May 24, 2012. The measure was extended by Decision No. 14 of the EEC Board dated January 23, 2018. Nowadays, the anti-dumping duty rates range from 6.98% to 20.20% of the customs value depending on the manufacturer.
