Arzybek Kozhoshev: “The EAEU increases the role of research organizations in forming a single transport space”
Key trends in the transport sector in the EAEU were discussed by Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, and Valery Mashkov, Director General of the Russian “Scientific and Research Institute of Road Transport” (NIIAT), on May 15.
The EEC Minister informed on forming a single transport space and establishing a common market for transport services in the EAEU. In this regard, the Commission jointly with the EAEU countries’ authorized bodies elaborates regulatory legal acts, implements pilot projects, and analyzes the situation in the field of international cargo transportation by all modes of transport in the EAEU.
In turn, the Head of NIIAT, which is the developer of a number of strategic documents on transport development in the Russian Federation, expressed interest in long-term cooperation. According to Valery Mashkov, this cooperation could take place on the issues of advanced training of the EEC specialized employees and exchange of experience in the transport sector. All this will contribute to improving efficiency in addressing the issues of creating and developing the EAEU common market for transport services.
Arzybek Kozhoshev and Valery Mashkov noted the positive results of the meeting and agreed to continue cooperation.
