Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Tatyana Valovaya, Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
The parties discussed interaction between the Commission and UN agencies, including the Organization's Office at Geneva, and also considered the prospects for dialogue between international organizations at the venue of UNCTAD (UN Conference on Trade and Development).
Bakytzhan Sagintaev has noted that the EEC is open to cooperation with partners in mutual study of integration practices, including at events under the auspices of the UN.
In order to raise awareness of the official, business and expert circles in Europe about the development of Eurasian economic integration processes, the Chairman of the Board proposed to hold of the Eurasian Economic Union Days in the UN office at Geneva in the near future. The EEC received consent for this from all the Union countries.
Following the negotiations, the two sides expressed their interest in expanding cooperation.
