Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the EEC Board, has expressed condolences on behalf of the Eurasian Economic Commission and in his personal capacity to Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Iranian people on the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash in the north of the country.

“With deep sorrow I have taken the news of the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and members of the government delegation. The bright memory of the outstanding politician and statesman, who made enormous contribution to developing cooperation between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union countries, will forever remain in the hearts of our peoples,” the telegram reads.
