Future of Eurasian integration and EAEU development goals until 2045 to be discussed at 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum

A long-term development of the Eurasian Economic Union will be discussed by the attendees of the 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum to be held on May 24-25 in Moscow. At the session "'Priorities for EAEU 2030+' involving Deputy Prime Ministers of the Union countries, the experts will exchange views on the main vectors of integration interaction and propose specific steps to ensure the EAEU development goals.



On January 23, 2023, Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and President of the Russian Federation, proposed in his address to the Heads of State of the Eurasian Economic Union to assess the progress in implementing the current Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025. He also called it expedient to start preparing new long-term planning documents later in the year that would determine the main vectors of integration interaction for the period until 2030 and 2045.

“We in the Eurasian Economic Union have created an effective and efficient integration model; the Union is one of the independent poles in a multipolar world order. Today we can say that any objectives we set can be implemented. At the Eurasian Economic Forum, we will discuss what key long-term goal we strive for and how to ensure economic growth and improve the well-being of our countries' citizens,” noted Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

During the discussion, the experts will also discuss new directions for the EAEU strategic development, projects that can help increase the share of high-tech exports and create trans-Eurasian corporations, and other topics.

The session is expected to be attended by Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Adylbek Kasymaliev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sergei Glazyev, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Tigran Sargsyan, Deputy Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank's Management Board. The discussion will be moderated by Andrey Slepnev, Member of the Board — Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum is held as part of the chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the Eurasian Economic Union's governing bodies. The Forum's objective is to improve cooperation ties in the Eurasian space. The EEF-2023 events will be held under the motto "Eurasian Integration in a Multipolar World". A total of about 35 business sessions will be held during the event. They will be divided into seven thematic tracks, including: "Human Capital", "Technology and Cooperation", "EAEU in a Changing World", "Eurasian Convergence", as well as "EAEU Internal Market: Customs Cooperation, Competition and Public Procurement".

Besides, the Eurasian Economic Forum will host on its sidelines the Green Eurasia International Climate Competition, the Business Breakfast of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to discuss new opportunities for international cooperation in Eurasia, and the Business Breakfast of the EAEU-Indonesia Business Dialogue. Business Dialogues will also be held dedicated to the cooperation of the Eurasian integration format with Indonesia and Latin American countries.
