Rules for marking goods with EAC sign simplified until September 1, 2023

The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council has decided on the possibility of applying the EAC sign and marking of products with consumer information about the composition, shelf life, information about the manufacturer, etc. after importing products – compliance with customs procedures. Along with that, the products should be marked before selling to the consumer (buyer). This marking simplification can be applied until September 1, 2023.

Besides, pursuant to the EEC Council’s decision, the Governments of the EAEU countries may establish until September 1, 2023 special aspects of applying the EEC Council’s Decision No. 130 dated November 12, 2021 in terms of determining the procedure and cases of submitting conformity assessment documents (information about such documents) to customs authorities when placing products under the customs clearance. Special aspects of importing products subject to mandatory conformity assessment in the EAEU territory established at the national level cannot exclude the obligation to comply with the EAEU technical regulation requirements.

The decision was adopted as part of implementing the list of measures to improve economic stability of the EAEU States, including ensuring macroeconomic stability, approved by Disposition No. 12 of the Commission’s Council dated March 17, 2022. The adopted measure is required to maintain a stable supply of goods to the EAEU countries’ markets, against which economic sanctions have been introduced.
