Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, who chaired the negotiations, noted some significant trends in resolving issues on which the sides were unable to reach consensus for a long time.

During the consultation, the Ministries of Energy agreed on most of the agenda items: they approved definitions of the gas buyer, free capacity, transboundary transportation and gas supply, individual issues of the common gas market regulation and interaction between gas transmission system operators.

They compared notes and achieved progress in understanding the status of common market participants, ensuring the Member States’ domestic demands for gas, as well as certain aspects of executing a gas supply contract.

Arzybek Kozhoshev noted the sides’ readiness for a constructive dialogue: "The search for solutions to outstanding issues will continue at a higher level to develop mutually acceptable proposals that can become the blueprint for future compromises on sensitive issues".

The heads of authorized bodies agreed to further address certain provisions of the international gas treaty on a bilateral basis to complete the document and submit it to the Union’s governing bodies for consideration.
