The need to update the Action Plan for Cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Electric Power Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was considered on March 23 at a meeting between Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, and Taras Kupchikov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council.
Following the meeting, an arrangement was reached to strengthen interaction in establishing common electric power markets of the EAEU and the CIS, work on climate and digital agendas, as well as involvement of the scientific and expert community in the processes related to the electric power industry in the two integration associations.
“The broad involvement of the scientific community in developing proposals for mutually beneficial cooperation between the EAEU Member States and the CIS Participating States in energy management will enable finding mutually beneficial and reasonable solutions aimed at creating conditions for stable economic development of the Eurasian five countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States,” Arzybek Kozhoshev noted.
