EEC extended zero duty on manganese ores and concentrates
The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board decided to extend the zero rates of import customs duties on manganese ores and concentrates (code 2602 00 000 0 of the CN FEA of the EAEU) until the end of 2025.
The goods in question are raw materials for manufacturing ferro alloys in the metal industry. In the EAEU, the relevant products are manufactured only in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but the available volumes make it impossible to meet the needs in full.
"Extending the measure will help eliminate the shortage of manganese ores and concentrates in the EAEU market, improve competitiveness and increase the capacity utilization of ferroalloy production facilities in the EAEU," noted Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Tariff and Non-Tariff Customs Regulation Department.
The decision shall come into effect after 10 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication and shall apply to legal relations arisen since January 1, 2024.

The zero rate of import customs duty in respect of manganese ores and concentrates is established in accordance with Decision No. 140 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board dated October 19, 2021 and valid until December 31, 2023.
