The Eurasian Economic Commission elaborates a draft Agreement on circulating organic products in the EAEU. This work is carried out in accordance with the roadmap for forming the Union’s common market for organic agricultural products approved by the Heads of the Eurasian five countries in 2021.
In this regard, the EEC expresses its support for the initiative put forward by the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to hold a competition for awarding prizes for developing the Russian organic products. Artak Kamalyan, EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture, confirmed his personal participation in the competition’s expert commission held to support the principles of sustainable development, environmental protection and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
"Along with the rule-making work, it is of utmost importance to pay attention to promoting the concept of organic products both among consumers and in business communities", Artak Kamalyan noted. “Of course, forming national brands in the organic sphere will contribute to developing this market and building brand awareness of organic manufacturers. In the future, we hope to spread this experience and inflate such campaigns within the EAEU".
As part of the competition, the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) organized an
online poll where everyone interested can choose a national organic brand.
