The discussion attendees considered the possibilities and prospects of the Union's manufacturing complex in the field of microelectronics as well as areas of cooperation in this sector.
"Today's event was organized on behalf of the Heads of our States to discuss conceptual approaches to constructing the EAEU concerted long-term strategy in the field of microelectronics. The issue of developing national output of computational microelectronics is relevant not only in the Eurasian Economic Union's space. Just recently, the EU adopted a law envisaging a twofold increase in output of microchips in the EU space, which indicates dependence on the supply of components from all countries of this region", Artak Kamalyan noted. "Therefore, I believe that combining the EAEU States’ production and scientific potentials will enable not only to increase the Union’s economic potential, but also to ensure security and significantly strengthen the independence of national markets from foreign-made products".
